In little under three weeks' time everyone will be assembled on the Melbourne grid readying themselves for the start of the Australian Grand Prix. But before the curtain is raised on the 2011 championship, the teams have one last chance to wrap up their development programmes, evaluate new upgrades and improve their cars at this week's final pre-season test at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya

Christian Klien has revealed he's making every effort to land the final vacant slot on the 2011 grid, at HRT. Klien, who raced for the Spanish team at three Grands Prix in 2010, is working hard behind the scenes to secure the second seat alongside Narain Karthikeyan, despite some tough competition from other drivers. “My manager Roman Rummenigge is in permanent contact with the team's management,” Klien explained in an interview with his official website. “Needless to say I would love to drive for HRT. I am convinced the team will make good progress and surprise a few people. In Geoff Willis and chief designer Paul White they have engineers who know very well how to build competitive racing cars. I would love to develop it further. And they are masters of efficiency like no other team on the grid.”

Ferrari have made a further revision to the name of their 2011 car after settling a dispute with Ford. It will now be known as the 150° Italia. The car was launched as the F150 in late January, but the moniker prompted objections from Ford, who produce a best-selling pick-up truck of the same name in the US. As Formula One racing's youngest-ever champion, Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel would be forgiven for feeling a tiny bit pleased with himself as he targets a successful defence of his 2010 title over the forthcoming season. But a low-key Vettel is keen to dismiss any suggestion that having the number one plastered to his car will make any difference in 2011. “It was good over winter to have a little bit of time to myself,” the 23 year-old German told Red Bull's official website. “I spent it together with friends and family. We have started again with the new cars, preparing for the new season so after all I wouldn't say life has changed too much.

F1 2010™, the first multi-format, high-definition Formula One videogame from Codemasters, has been nominated for a prestigious GAME British Academy Video Games Award. The British Academy of Film and Television, a UK charity which promotes moving image art forms, has recognised gaming industry achievements for over a decade.
